Why I Recommend Squarespace for Small Businesses

Website design used to be a messy and complicated process. If you wanted to make a small change on your website, you’d often have to contact (and pay) a professional to make that update for you.

As someone who’s worked in Wordpress, Showit, Webflow, Wix and more, I always come back to recommending Squarespace for my clients. I love Squarespace because I can create a beautiful website that meets all the needs of small business owners. Then, I can hand-off the website to my clients for easy updates and maintenance.

Let’s explore four of the primary reasons I recommend Squarespace for my clients:

Beautiful Design (no code required)

A professionally-designed, beautiful website will legitimize your brand and help you stand out in your industry.

Squarespace offers many built-in design features like scrolling text, Instagram feed integration and animations. All of which don’t require any additional code or plugins.

While no coding is required in Squarespace, I’ll often add some custom CSS to enhance my client’s websites even more. The best part is that you’ll still be able to edit and update your site without having to touch the code.

Functional Design

Your website not only needs to look good, but it should offer a seamless user-experience for your customers and clients.

Essentially, as your customer navigates your site, the information and organization of your website should be clear and easy to use. Optimal text and button sizes should be considered as well as color contrast and accessibility for visually-impaired users.

Additionally, your website needs to be mobile responsive. This means that the format of your website adapts to different screen sizes like mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers.

As a designer, I consider it my job to consider all aspects of a user-friendly website experience. That being said, Squarespace has the most optimized architecture for responsive design.

Ease of Use

One of the main selling points of Squarespace is just how easy it is to use.

Whether my client is a marketing pro, or a total newbie to website platforms, I can handover a Squarespace website and know they’ll feel confident updating it moving forward.

Plus, for small business owners wearing all the hats, an easy-to-use website means literally hours of time saved and headaches avoided.

Grows with You

The last thing I love about Squarespace is all the possibilities and functionalities it offers for small business owners, no matter what stage you’re in.

Even if you’re just starting your business, I feel confident suggesting Squarespace and knowing the site will continue to grow with you. Here are just a few of the features Squarespace offers based on common business goals:

  • Get found on Google with built-in SEO

  • Sell digital or physical products

  • Easily capture leads and book clients

  • Capture emails and start your email newsletter

  • Start and monetize your blog

These are just a few of the reasons I love Squarespace for small business owners, but there are many more! If you have questions, DM me on Instagram.

If you're convinced Squarespace is the right choice for you, but lack the time to build your site on your own, get in touch! I love walking my clients through their customer’s journey to help them create a website that doesn't just look good, but leads to sales and conversions.
